Edge of Space and Aerobatics

Aventures et Voyages propose you a complex program consisting of flying to the Edge of Space combined with the experience of aerobatic maneuvers in a MiG-29 fighter jet created by « Country of Tourism » together with Sokol Airbase. 

This program has existed for almost a year. Why did we create this program? We have had unprecedented numbers of requests from people who are already our customers, to satisfy two goals – to reach the stratosphere (an altitude of 21-23 km) and also have a high performance aerobatics experience, on top! 

The arguments against using a MiG-31 for setting up the Edge of Space program were following:

At the same time, the demand for flights to the stratosphere keep growing and that is why we provide the Aerobatic maneuvers and Edge of Space program which consists of two separate flights.


The Aerobatic maneuvers and Edge of Space adventure, including the pre-flight prearations, in a MIG-29 "Fulcrum" fighter jet lasts 3-hours but the memories, stay with you for your whole life. You will see the Earth from this tremendous altitude. You can see the highly distinctive boundary between the blue sky and black outer-space. Feel the adrenaline rush as you reach the Edge of Space at supersonic speeds! Now, the MiG-29 "Fulcrum" flight includes several aerobatic maneuvers – from basic to the most advanced – will be performed… the level of difficulty will be decided by conditions of the state of your health! Maneuvers such as Flying Inverted, the Hammer Head, the Roll, a Loop, a Low Level Pass and others, will be made. The flight program for the MiG-29 lasts 45-50 minutes.

The pre-flight preparations will take about half an hour. You can discuss with the pilot about flight’s program; your blood-pressure will be taken and you will put on a pressure-suit and a helmet and oxygen mask. Once suited up and ready, you will be ferried to the airfield to examine this unique aircraft which has a place of honour in the world’s aircraft industry. Under the supervision and assistance of the pilot, you will be expected to check all plane’s moving parts and the air-surfaces. Your pilot will explain the functions of all the cockpit displays and instrumentation to you, in detail.

After reaching its maximum altitude, MiG- 29 "Fulcrum" fighter jet will descend to an altitude of 5-6 km when the pilot will begin performing the aerobatics. These high aerobatics can be performed far from Sokol airbase but if your friends want to be able to see the advanced aerobatics, with you on board, then they will be performed right over the aerodrome. You will be in constant communication with the pilot and may modify the program or the type of aerobatics. G-forces might be between 3G and 7G.
